The same perfumers make both the Creed Aventus and Creed Aventus Cologne. However, the Aventus had some other hands involved.

Makers

Olivier and Erwin Creed

Olivier Creed was the notable figure behind the Aventus Cologne. A sixth-generation master perfumer, Olivier Creed made fragrances available for the first time to the public in 1970.

Olivier Creed is known for developing iconic fragrances. Ten years later, Erwin Creed was born, becoming the seventh generation of the familial line contributing to perfume design.

Creed Store

Both father and son are fragrance entrepreneurs. Erwin Creed has a few notable perfumes under his belt including Acqua Fiorentina, Aventus 10th Anniversary, and Love in Black. In 2009, Creed opened a North American Boutique in New York and launched its corresponding website to reach sales throughout the United States.

Jean-Christophe Herault

Alongside Erwin Creed, Jean-Christophe Herault played a part in developing the Creed Aventus. Herault grew up in France next to the fragrance industry.

His father’s business produced perfume concentrates, and after giving him a bottle in his teen years, Herault discovered the power and personality fragrances hold.

He studied chemistry at university and obtained an internship, studying under the eye of Pierre Bourdon. Herault has a background in art, culture and creativity as seen through his contributions to perfumes.

The Differences in Scent Notes

The Creed Aventus Cologne is citrusy with woodsy and musky notes. The warm spice contributes to an aromatic and nearly leather scent.

The cologne highlights sweetness and fruitiness but not as much as the original. Mandarin orange mixes with ginger and pink pepper for an oddly spicy fragrance. Vetiver, patchouli, sandalwood and birch are additions to this cologne for a full-bodied experience.

Creed Aventus for Men is the most acclaimed fragrance to date with its bold, aromatic and dry scent.

pineapple, apples and berries

The addictive and enticing formula includes berries, apples and pineapples for a seductive and rich, nearly hypnotizing, aroma. Creed Aventus is for those heading out for the night or wanting to make a statement.

The scent is clean, fresh and masculine while not overpowering. The bright and tartness complement the fruity and floral scent. Creed Aventus maintains the woodsy aroma and enunciates with hints of jasmine, rose, labdanum and ambergris.

What’s the Best Season to Wear Each?

The Creed Aventus Cologne is ideal for the spring and summer. Men can spray this lighter version throughout the day, and it will last decently throughout their activities, with a moderate sillage.

The Aventus can be worn similarly, throughout the warmer seasons, as well as the autumn. This perfume will match both daytime and nighttime adventures.

Who Are These Scents For?

Both the Creed Aventus and the Creed Aventus Cologne are more male-centered and reminiscent of each other.

The cologne is a fresher, urban translation of the original scent, receiving approval from around the globe and snagging awards for its ingenuity.

confident man

The Aventus is designed for those who live a driven and sophisticated life. The Creed brand produces fragrances for those who savor every moment.

Aventus is perfect for any occasion and makes wearers more self-assured, elegant, confident and powerful. Aventus celebrates strength, vision and success, inspired by the dramatic life of war, peace and romance.

Packaging and Presentation

The Creed Aventus has a silver emblem of a horse and rider emblazoned on the bottle design. The high price is one of the downsides of both perfumes. However, Creed uses only the finest, hand-selected ingredients to create a provocative, masculine and optimistic fragrance.

The Creed Aventus Cologne 100ml has additional sizes varying from smaller to larger bottles. Wearers can choose to engrave a medallion into the bottle or add a leather sleeve for additional customization.

The Cologne looks similar in bottle design but instead sports silver components compared to the Aventus’ slick black look.

Personal Impressions

Even though the Cologne shares some of the same ingredients as the Aventus, we love how this edition uses them differently.

Despite having the same concentration of familiar aromas, the Cologne is revitalizing, modern and twists the formula into something entirely fresh. The elements mingle together for freshness, and we find ourselves spritzing frequently.

Fernweh Editions Candles

As for Aventus, which some might see as a Creed Aventus Cologne clone, its distinctive masculine scent with complex layers of bright, tart, and sweet fruit with clean florals earn it strong marks.

The smokiness of the wood with the crispy and piquant features make all the elements stand out uniquely. We appreciate the bergamot and black currant for an earthy and enveloping experience. The jasmine, patchouli and oak contribute to a memorable aroma that we keep coming back for more.

Performance

Ever since its premiere in 2019, the Creed Aventus Cologne has become a universal legend, complementing the Creed brand’s counterparts expressively and unconventionally.

With the cologne, we gather a new experience of its own with defining moments, highlighting individuality.

The cologne is a perfect way to complete the trilogy of men’s perfumes, including the cologne, Aventus For Her, the feminine fragrance that showcases strength and radiance, and the classic Creed Aventus.

Aventus shows power and success and is one of the best-selling fragrances in the brand’s history. Olivier Creed created its name from a Ventus, meaning wind.

Conclusion

After reading this Creed Aventus Cologne review, we hope wearers have a better understanding of the differences between these two products.

Feel free to conduct further research before purchasing if one seems of interest. Regardless of which product a person chooses, we’re sure the potent and memorable fragrance will satisfy them.
