Valentino has made a collection of stunning perfumes over the years. Some of their most recent perfumes include Donna Born in Roma, Uomo Born in Roma, and of course, Voce Viva.

The name Voce Viva means “with the living voice.” It was designed to represent femininity and the voice of women. But how does this perfume perform, and more importantly, what does it smell like?
Keep reading this Valentino Voce Viva perfume review to find out if this is the next perfume you should add to your collection.
Who Makes It?
This fragrance, launched in 2020, is created under the french fashion house Valentino. In fashion, Valentino is known for its elegant styles that stand out from the crowd.
According to the original designer, Valentino Garavani, he knew that women wanted to be beautiful, and he made that his goal in his designs.
Voce Viva is just one of the perfumes in their line. This particular perfume was designed by the perfumers Amandine Clerc-Marie, and Honorine Blanc.
Amandine has had her hand in 83 different perfumes, being involved in brands such as Estee Lauder, Yves Saint Laurent, and Givenchy.
Honorine has worked on 121 perfumes and has been a part of brands such as Agent Provocateur, Gucci, Ralph Lauren, and Vera Wang.
Scent Notes
Voce Viva is an utterly feminine scent that is delicate and sweet. The top notes of this scent are mandarin orange, bergamot, and ginger.
The middle notes are orange blossom and gardenia. Finally, we have the base notes of vanilla, musk, tonka bean, sandalwood, and oakmoss.
Together the Valentino Voce Viva notes make a perfume that is citrusy and floral with hints of vanilla. It was created as an Ode to Valentino’s femininity, and it does that perfectly with its bright, light scent.
Who Would Like It
This perfume is perfect for those who prefer a lighter, floral scent. Voce Viva isn’t overly strong and doesn’t overwhelm. It’s light and delicate.
As it’s a lighter scent, this may also be a great option for those who have a sensitivity to stronger scents.
When to Wear It
The scent of Voce Viva evokes sunshine and meadows. This kind of scent really shines in the spring, mirroring the world waking up from the winter and flowers beginning to bloom. It also does well in the fall.
This scent is a little too bright and citrus for summer. Summer perfumes really need something a little deeper, perhaps with fruit. If you prefer light florals, then you could still wear them in summer regardless.
If it’s too light for summer, it’s certainly too light for winter. Winter scents require darkness, embracing scents of warm amber and coffee. If you’re a fan of Voce, you may be better off shelving it for the colder months, letting it awaken in the spring.
Where to Wear It
Voce Viva is more of a daytime perfume. Thanks to the light, delicate scent that’s not too obstructive, it would work great in an office environment or any setting of daily wear.
It’s a little too light for the evening. So if you’re planning a night out, feel free to layer a scent that works better at night.
Packaging and Presentation
Voce Viva has a bottle that is both classic and eye-catching. The bottle itself is crafted from clear glass with bevels across the front that evoke the image of an hourglass or the letter V. The name Valentino is emblazoned at the bottom of the bottle in fiery red.
The cap of the bottle is made of brushed gold and has a line of spike details that mirror the hourglass shape in the bottle. On the underside of the cap, there is a rim of red, mirroring the Valentino name.
The box it comes in is a minimalist design of all over deep Fuschia. The name Voce Viva and the brand name Valentino are both embossed in gold. On the sides of Voce Viva, there is another occurrence of the hourglass shape.
The main bottle design comes in two sizes, 100 ml, and 50 ml. There is also a Valentino Voce Viva mini that is more reminiscent of the box. The mini size (10 ml) is an elongated tube of deep fuchsia and textured with spikes with a gold cap.
If you’re looking for a Valentino Voce Viva gift set, you can find one that contains a Valentino Voce Viva 50 ml and a 15 ml travel spray.
Personal Impressions
Our personal impression of Voce Viva is rather underwhelming. It is a beautiful scent of delicate florals and orange blossoms, but it is almost a little too delicate.
It is a very traditional feminine scent that doesn’t offer anything extra. It’s so light that it also doesn’t appear to last particularly long.
That being said, this is what may make Voce Viva an excellent addition to a perfume collection. Voce Viva works wonderfully as a daytime perfume, working well in an office setting.
If you work with clients, you won’t be worried about overwhelming them with a strong perfume or upsetting mild scent sensitivities. Since it wears off fairly quickly, it makes it easy to switch to an evening perfume later without battling scents.
All in all, we give Voce Viva a firm okay.
Performance
Like our personal impressions, the performance is middle line okay.
The scent of Voca Viva will last at most 4 hours. It’s a perfectly acceptable sillage, but we might have expected more from a luxury brand.
For a Valentino Voce Viva dupe that has a little more lasting power, you could try Voce Viva Intensa, which has a warmer floral scent and seems to perform better.
